Aurora Borealis (AB), a bead treatment inspired by the Northern Lights was invented in 1956 by Swarovski in partnership with Christian Dior, this treatment is applied to glass beads and creates an iridescent, rainbow effect. Usually this coating is only applied to one side of the bead however it can be coated on both sides for a more dramatic effect.
