Quandong Nut Adjustable Necklace
A simple necklace featuring a single Quandong threaded onto waxed cotton cord with an adjustable slide knot. No clasp – just pop it over your head and slide the knots along the cord to adjust the length to where you like it.
With no clasp, crimp beads or other metal findings this easy to wear style necklace is suitable for people with a metal allergy and others with limited manual dexterity or fine-motor coordination.

Fully opened the necklace circumference is approximately 66cm and can be worn any length between that and approx. 40cm. at its shortest.
I’ve threaded the approx. 18mm Quandong nut onto 2mm round woven waxed cotton cord and created the adjustable slide knot using 1mm cord in the lashing.
Quandong is a common name of Santalum acuminatum (Desert Quandong), Santalum murrayanum (Bitter Quandong) which are in the sandalwood genus and the unrelated (Blue Quandong) Elaeocarpus angustifolius.
The necklace pictured is handmade by me in Western Australia and ready for collection from Bibra Lake or postage can be arranged.
