How can we benefit from this colour?

This is a follow-on post from an earlier post on the Metaphysical Properties of Orange.
It is from a series of posts about Colour Properties.

You may find reading these first, or at least referring to them will help you understand what I am talking about in this post.

To me, the flame of a campfire is symbolic of this colour. The enthusiasm and vitality of the flame dancing on the wood sparks gregarious and creative connections in the group. Think of all the fun times had around a communal fire.

As the flame settles is seems hypnotic and provides a focal point. Staring at the flame appears relaxing and meditational and allows you to connect to your being. It enables you to settle into yourself and gain deep insight into your aspirations or life purpose.

The duality of this colour can also be represented by a flame, but this time of a raging bushfire. The indecision of what to do when warned, then the hysteria and fear during the approach followed by the aftermath of melancholy and disappointment at what was lost.

This trauma can stay and cause one to be stuck in the past. To lack confidence and not move forward. This lack of self-worth can attribute to co-dependency issues or addictions.

After a bushfire though, especially in Australia, the bush rejuvenates. This natural occurrence is full of promise and brings forth optimism for the future.

Orange is associated with the lower abdomen or Sacral Chakra. This is from where we get our gut feelings or inner wisdom. It is also the site of our deepest feelings of bliss or rapture.

For the Metaphysical Properties of Carnelian see https://www.maxinefaye.com.au/c-gemstones/

How can these lessons be addressed?

People under the Orange energy may suffer from a lack of trust (in others and themselves). They may be indecisive and lack confidence. A lesson from Orange is to connect. To connect in a positive manner, not as a co-dependant.

Connecting or re-connecting to a group, community or cause enables them to move on from the past and regain their confidence. This, in turn, can reignite their enthusiasm and optimism.

An affirmation to say each day is

“I am breaking through my barriers"

Of course, this won’t happen just by saying it once off. Each and every time you feel unworthy or stuck in the past, just focus on the affirmation of your choice.

Chakra and Physical areas associated with Orange

The physical areas associated with Orange are the lower abdomen, kidneys, bladder, colon, spleen, abdomen, lower back, reproductive systems and sexuality. Puberty is also associated with Orange.

Menopause and hormonal changes may be assisted with Orange as can the absorption or digestion of food, balancing the acidity of the body and assisting with food cravings – to be disciplined not denied.

Orange sits in the Sacral Chakra (slightly above the genital area.

If any of the areas or conditions listed under the Chakra and Physical areas of the original post are causing concern, you can look at using the suggested crystals in their Orange form. Small pieces can be carried in your pocket or use larger specimens in your office or bedroom.

Clothing is another easy way to benefit from the energy of colour.  Orange isn’t your favourite colour?   Use socks or underwear in this colour as a great way of reminding yourself that you are connected and have confidence – and no-one will know.

If that doesn’t suit you, how about orange sheets (or just the pillowcase) or bathe in bath-salts in this vibrant colour.

Drink an Orange juice, eat a Mandarin.   All these things will just hold your attention and remind you that you are on a journey to reconnect.

Coral

The metaphysical properties of this colour

The Metaphysical Properties of Colour - Coral - read more at https://www.maxinefaye.com.au/properties-of-coral/

This colour Coral can be thought of as the love-wisdom ray. The love coming from pink coupled with wisdom of orange.   It is the bringer of ancient wisdom and unconditional love. Service and empathy to others are associated with Coral, as is sacrifice for the common good. This is the colour for community minded endeavours and those that share a common journey. It increases co-operative abilities.

Coral activates a moral vision, a sensitivity to our environment. It is open-minded and has a child like spontaneity. Coral boosts imagination and expressions of love and creativity. This colour develops higher intuition. It offers protection from deception. It allows us to access the etheric web to connect to our soul group.

The Lesson for Coral is

“Feelings of Unrequited Love”.

There may be unresolved relationships or suffering from abuse to do with past situations. Coral may have been intensely hurt or rejected so it can push others away and live like a hermit with little concern for self. There may be a sense of exclusion, of being “lost”.

This colour can show emotional need.  A need to be isolated, and just as strongly, a need to be needed.  A deep need to belong to something. Dependency issues can arise within coral.

The need for Coral is

“To belong”

An affirmation suitable for this colour is

“The love I give is freely returned”

Of course, this won’t happen just by saying it once off. Each and every time you feel unworthy or stuck in the past, just focus on the affirmation of your choice.

This colour connects with

Seraphim, angelic beings concerned with humans and human conditions

The physical areas associated the bridging of the “yellow” and “pink“ together in Coral are the colon – (holding on) and absorption of both toxins or nourishment. It can therefore connect to the bones / skeleton. Coral sits in the pelvic area and can enhance sensuality and stimulate the senses.

Crystals / Gems

That may provide assistance with these issues

Crystals / gems (in their coral form) that may be of benefit to wear are Coral and combinations of the “yellow” or “pink” gems.

ou may find wearing or using these and other coral items provides assistance when dealing with any of these Coral issues.

Pink

More metaphysical properties of this colour

How can we benefit from this colour?

This is a follow-on post from an earlier post on the Metaphysical Properties of Orange.
It is from a series of posts about Colour Properties.

You may find reading these first, or at least referring to them will help you understand what I am talking about in this post.

Pink allows us to respond to situations from a place of love and trust, not react to them from a fear based place.  Hate and discrimination are emotions born from fear.  Fear of the unknown or unfamiliar.  Fear that someone will have more, get there first, look different or even be liked more than us.

Fear and Love are the two base emotions.  If we don’t love it, it is because there is an element of fear and if we don’t fear it, it is because we can come from a place of unconditional love.

Although unconditional love sits in this beautiful pink colour, it is not always soft and never a push-over.  Think of your mum.  She will love you whatever you do, but she may not always like your behaviour, and she will bring you back into line when need be.

Whilst conditional love revolves around some form of exchange or something you get from another – (an emotion or feeling) unconditional love is an action, given freely, no matter what – and from that action, you reward yourself with the emotion or feeling.  Unconditional love is treating the person like you would like to be treated in that situation.

It is not being a door-mat and letting people walk all over you.  The unconditional love in Pink is also for us.  Accept those love handles, be aware of our faults.  It doesn’t mean we have to like them and that we can’t work towards improving our weaknesses, it just means that while we are in the process of improvement, we are still worthy of our own and others love.

Pink is kind, considerate and caring.  It enables us, and others to show our vulnerability. To let our tough exterior fade and to receive the love and compassion that we yearn for.  It is not a sign of weakness but of strength.  It’s having the courage to show others the softer side of us when we have no control of the outcome.

felix-russell-saw-113844-unsplash1

How can these lessons be addressed?

If we feel the only way we can be loved is conditional, then we may do anything to get that love.  This can then cause guilt, shame and lack of respect for our own actions and that of others.  This is one of the lessons of pink.

There is a thought that dogs want attention and will do nearly anything to get it.  Even “bad” attention is still attention in their eyes….at least someone is focused on them at that time.  In their mind it is preferable to be growled at and in trouble for chewing the chair, etc, than to be ignored.

We have similar requirements when we feel unloved and may partake in high risk actions or inappropriate behaviours just to feel accepted and loved, even if momentarily.

Physically, the ears are associated with pink and although there may be no hearing loss as such, we may feel unheard or not listened to.  We may believe our feelings are not validated or taken seriously.  We may even have closed off ourselves and not be willing to listen to our own needs, dreams and desires or that of others.    There is a need for Pink to be heard.

Give yourself some quiet time to listen to your own needs.  Make a journal of the issues or solutions that you wish to pay attention to.  Listen to others “in the moment”.  Just listen.  Paraphrase if you must to make sure you understand what they are saying / where they are coming from /what their needs are.  Remember to use the energy of Pink to be respectful and respond to your / their needs, instead of reacting.  This may take some time to develop, so be gentle with yourself and your newfound vulnerability.

An affirmation to say each day is

"I am Loveable"

Of course, this won’t happen just by saying it once off. Each and every time you feel unworthy or stuck in the past, just focus on the affirmation of your choice.

Chakra and Physical areas associated with Pink

If any of these areas or conditions listed under the Chakra and Physical areas of the original post, are causing concern, you can look at using the suggested crystals in their Pink form. Small pieces can be carried in your pocket or use larger specimens in your office or bedroom.  Rose Quartz in particular is known as the stone for unconditional love and is such a gentle, yet powerful energy.

Clothing is another easy way to benefit from the energy of colour. Can’t bring yourself to be seen in Pink? Use Pink socks or underwear as a great way of reminding yourself that you are both loved and loving– and no-one will know.

If that doesn’t suit you, how about pink sheets (or just the pillowcase) or bathe in pink bath-salts.  Drink a pink smoothie, eat some watermelon.  All these things will just hold your attention and remind you that you are on a journey to recapture your feelings of being loved unconditionally – by yourself, others and the universe.

Caring for your Opals

Solid Opal is a soft stone so please treat gently to avoid damaging it

Depositphotos_71661147_xl-2015 opalL

Most precious opals contain about 5-6% water, therefore, an opal may crack if subjected to very dry conditions or rapid changes in temperature. Try to avoid very high temperatures or low humidity extremes, such as boiling water or storing your gems in bank vaults or safes with very low humidity.

Cleaning your Opals

Solid opal can be cleaned gently with a mild detergent in lukewarm water and a soft cloth. Do not use strong chemicals and cleaners.

Never place your opals in an ultrasonic cleaner, as the intense vibrations may cause cracking in a solid opal, and water penetration in a doublet or triplet.

Small scratches and scuff marks can cause an opal to lose its shiny polish and become dull looking. If this is the case with your stones a professional polisher should be contacted to bring it back to life.

Storing your Opals

To store, simply place your opal in a soft cloth bag for protection and place it in a safe place where it won’t be knocked. If you need to store your stones in a very low humidity safe or vault, first wrap your opal in cotton wool with a few drops of water, then into a sealed plastic bag just to be safe. As the opal is impervious, the water will not soak into the but it will prevent water coming out of the stone.

Exceptions to the above

If your opal isn’t a Solid but is a Doublet or Triplet style the care is a little different.

Caring for your Pearls

Regular cleaning should keep your Pearls looking luminous

Close up Elegant Pearl Necklace on Glossy Table, Emphasizing Reflection Image.

While the natural oils from your skin can improve Pearl’s sheen, they can also damage or discolour the silk thread, therefore wipe each Pearl and the silk strand gently after each use with a dedicated jewellery cloth, or suitable soft fabric such as bamboo or velvet. Do not pull on the tread as that may cause stretching.

Due to the softness of Pearls, they are generally threaded onto silk. If that silk stretches or loosens, it may break suddenly. Inspect the integrity of the thread and knots during each cleaning session.

You may lightly dampen the cloth with water if required. As real pearls come from the ocean, some people believe they are best washed in salty water.

Never use harsh fabrics or abrasive tools such as toothbrushes or ultrasonic cleaners on your Pearls, nor commercial cleaners which may contain ammonia which can damage your investment.

Extra Cleaning

joanna-kosinska-S750RIWdbvMl-unsplash

Occasionally, especially after heavy or prolonged wear, you may need to use something a little stronger than a damp cloth. You may use a mild soap without fragrance or additives such as castile soap. I don’t recommend the use of detergent or dishwashing liquids.

Dip the cloth in the room temperature, soapy water, wipe the Pearls as usual and then wipe over with a clean damp cloth to remove any soapy residue.

Lay the pearls on a soft cloth (not in the sun) to thoroughly air-dry before returning them to storage. This helps preserves the elasticity of the silk thread. Do not wear the necklace until the silk thread is perfectly dry to prevent it from stretching.

Storage

olga-guryanova-C6HiQHSLBAML-unsplash

To clean the clasp, use a jewellery cleaner that is suitable for the metal. Dip a cotton bud into the cleaner and wipe the clasp, then refresh with a dampened cloth. Do not let the cleaner have contact with the Pearls as it may damage them.

Store your Pearl necklace laying down in a soft lined box or pouch to reduce the silk thread stretching. As you can see in the photo above, the knots are no longer resting tightly between each pearl.

Always protect your pearl necklace from sharp blows, scratching, sunlight and heat/cold. Store separated from other jewellery as those gems or settings may scratch the Pearl.

Never place your Pearls in airtight containers or use plastic pouches to store them, as that’ll cause them to dry out and crack. Like skin, they need air and moisture to retain their nacre.

Chemicals such as perfume, hairspray and makeup are common causes of deterioration in Pearls. Before wearing your Pearls, wait until perfumes and sprays have dried.

Are my Pearls real?

pearl header

To tell if your Pearls are real, gently rub them along your front teeth. If there is a slightly gritty, sandy feel, they are real.  If there is no gritty sensation, and they run smoothly, then they are fake.

I hope you found this page helpful.

I would love to hear if you have found other methods of cleaning or caring for you pearls that have worked.

Coral

More metaphysical properties of this colour

This is a follow-on post from an earlier post on the Metaphysical Properties of Coral.

It is from a series of posts about Colour Properties.  You may find reading these first, or at least referring to them will help you understand what I am talking about in this post.

When we look at a coral reef, we can also metaphysically see the other properties of coral the colour.  The unconditional love and sacrifice for the common good is evident in each polyp of the physical reef, just as it is in the vibrations of the colour.

The hard limestone skeleton of previous generations are built on by the next and create the gorgeous reefs we, and marine life love to visit.  This could also be a metaphor for how the colour Coral connects the community minded and increases co-operation.

It also demonstrates the ancient wisdom of mother nature.  This represents not learned knowledge (which is in an upcoming post), but wisdom past down through the ages.

The colour Coral, like the reef, is sensitive to its environment.  People who relate to this colour are generally open-minded and acknowledge the wisdom of ancient cultures.  They have the ability to develop higher intuition.

How can the lessons be addressed?

People under the Coral energy can be clingy and have a need to belong.  They can have dependency issues if they feel that the love they are giving is not being returned how they had expected.  A lesson can be that Coral may need to be needed.

If they have been hurt or abused they may push everyone away and become isolated.  When in this state, they can show little regard to their own wellbeing or self care.

Awakening their imagination and encouraging creativity can be a way to express their love and reconnect to their soul-group.

An affirmation to say each day is

"The love I give is freely returned”

Of course this will not happen just by saying it once off, but each time you feel that you don’t belong or are not loved as you wish, just focus on the affirmation of your choice.

Chakra and Physical areas associated with Coral

The physical areas associated the bridging of the “yellow” and “pink“ together in Coral are the colon – and absorption of both toxins or nourishment.

It can connect to the bones / skeleton. Coral sits in the pelvic area and can enhance sensuality and stimulate the senses.

If you suffer from IBS, constipation or malabsorption conditions you may find this colour brings you relief.

Calcite is very beneficial for cleansing organs and supporting bones and may be useful in this case.

If any of these areas or conditions listed under the Chakra and Physical areas of the original post, are causing concern, you can look at using the suggested crystals in Coral (or stones in their Pink or Orange form). Small pieces can be carried in your pocket or use larger specimens in your office or bedroom.

Clothing is another easy way to benefit from the energy of colour. Coral isn’t your favourite colour? Use socks or underwear in this colour as a great way of reminding yourself that you belong and are loved– and no-one will know.

If that doesn’t suit you, how about coral sheets (or just the pillowcase) or bathe in bath-salts in this soft colour (or a mixture of pink and orange).  Drink a mango smoothie, eat some salmon.  All these things will just hold your attention and remind you that you are on a journey to reconnect to the love-wisdom ray.

Red

More metaphysical properties of this colour

tony-liao-j8AMpZ3Z3f4l-unsplash

How can we benefit from this colour?

This is a follow-on post from an earlier post on the Metaphysical Properties of Red.  It is from a series of posts about Colour Properties.

You may find reading these first, or at least referring to them will help you understand what I am talking about in this post

Let’s start with the obvious. Red is the colour of blood. Without blood, a person cannot survive. Our blood provides us with oxygen and through our bodily reactions gives us the strength and vitality we need to function.

The survival issues mentioned as one of the Red properties refer to being able to provide food, shelter and clothing – again, without these items we couldn’t survive….or not for long.

This colour is associated with the Base or Root chakra which connects us to Earth and provides grounding. When you are feeling light-headed or have a foggy mind, it may be that you need to become more grounded. This chakra contains the genitalia and sexual drive needed for reproduction.

Red is considered the colour of enthusiasm and “get-up and go” which is why it is often suggested as a colour to wear when you wish to be within your power. It is a great colour to surround yourself with if you need energy, concentration or courage.

The colour of action and movement, it is often (maybe in jest) – stated that red cars go faster. It is a colour that suggests passion, courage and daring. Bull fighter’s and Superhero’s capes are an example of the use of this colour to convey the message. Red roses are given to loved ones and dates such as Valentine’s Day are marketed around the colour red from lingerie to chocolates.

Red also suggests anger and when believed righteous, can be the motivation for change.

It is presumed a rock has no consciousness. It is neither aware of itself nor other items around it or how they may interact together. As we gain more awareness of ourselves, our surroundings and the suggestion of The Divine or Universal Consciousness, it is said we are awakening.

joanna-kosinska-P9oOLKNhIYUl-unsplash

How can the lessons be addressed?

If we have feelings of resentment, frustration, anger, disappointment or aggression, there is generally an abundance of Red energy. It is said we are hot under the collar. It is during these times that we should STOP and breathe…. This way we retain our power! Otherwise we become out of control.

When it is difficult to provide the material things needed to enjoy life or in some cases just to survive, we can become embarrassed of our situation and feel separated from our friends and loved ones or worse from Spirit. We may show competitive or materialistic behaviours. During these times, we need to find a way of grounding ourselves and reconnecting.

An affirmation to say each day is

“I am in my power”

As with other things we often hear people say “fake it until you make it” and this could apply to the affirmations. You may not feel in your power on day 1, but stay with it and with repetition you will feel the connectedness and awakening that you desire.

Chakra and Physical areas associated with Red

If any of these areas or conditions listed under the Chakra and Physical areas are causing concern, you can look at using the suggested crystals in their red form. Small pieces can be carried in your pocket or use larger specimens in your office or bedroom.

Clothing is another easy way to benefit from the energy of colour. Don’t wear Red? Use red socks if you need grounding or have week circulation. Underwear is a great way of stimulating under-active conditions – and no-one will know.

Food is a great source of Red –  Red meat, berries, beetroots, radishes all assist the blood and provide energy.

Is your concern that you have too much energy or passion, or are easily angered? You may find using the opposite colour to be effective. Green sits opposite red on the colour wheel. You can check out the Properties of Green here.

Metaphysical Properties of Colour

Bringing balance to our lives

colourful birds feeding

Using Colour, in any form, may benefit your physical, mental psychological or spiritual state.

Colour properties influence our choices every day – mostly without us even knowing – we even talk in colour  (“I’m feeling blue”, “He has a yellow streak”, and “She was green with envy”).

Find out more about your favourite (or least favourite) colour, the strengths, needs, affirmations, chakras and stones associated with it, clicking here.

In previous posts I have touched on the “Headlines” of each colour’s properties.  I have looked at affirmations that may be suitable if you are having issues with an essence of each colour and ways we may address the lessons of each colour.

Over the next months I’ll look at other aspects of each colour properties and go into more depth of what each of these “Headline” subjects was about.  We will eventually look at the chakra each colour is associated with and touch on the Tarot Cards linked to the colour properties.

There are no “Good” or “Bad” colours, they each contain both sides of the same coin.  As in Yin / Yang Philosophy, each colour exist as inseparable and contradictory opposites, for example female-male, dark-light and old-young.  In Red, the property that drives anger is the same property that can be channelled into extra energy and drive.  It is all in how the property is utilised.

Each colour sits on the colour wheel in a particular position and its opposite can be used as an “Antidote” for some of the issues.  Lets take Red again.  If you are feeling over-stimulated by its energy, then Green sitting opposite can be used to calm the situation.

How does this work in real life?

Lets look at a situation where you are getting wound up and things are getting heated or aggressive.  Green represents space and is calming.  To use the “Antidote” you could take a break and connect with nature.  Hug a tree, sit on the grass and remember to breathe as the lungs and respiratory system also fall under Green.

If the situation is ongoing and difficult to bear.  Use one of the recommended stones/crystals for their protective or stimulative effects.

Some easy ways to use each colour properties are:-

  • Dress in it.  Underwear and socks are an easy way of using colours you wouldn’t usually wear.
  • Eat it.  Make a salad of your required coloured vegetables or fruits.
  • Drink it.  Put your water in a coloured bottle and let it sit in the light.  Put one of the suggested stones into a jug of water and let it sit.  Drink the water.  Ensure your stone is clean and doesn’t contain toxins.
  • Bathe in it.  Put flowers or crystals etc of your chosen colour into your bath.
  • Surround yourself with it.  Paint your room.  Add accessories.
  • Wear it.  Use jewellery to add the colours you require.  Double up on this by using Gemstone and Crystal jewellery to get the Metaphysical benefits of the colour and the properties of the stone.
I have included Metaphysical properties and information on some of my favourite or interesting Crystals, Gems and Minerals. I have collected this from several sources and hope you find it helpful and interesting. The colour of the piece will generally indicate as to which chakra they may benefit. Red

The metaphysical properties of this colour

a bunch of red roses

This is the colour of energy, enthusiasm, passion, action and motion.

It is the colour that gives us the “get-up-and-go”, the strength, vitality and energy to make changes and mental re-evaluations needed in our lives.

It is beneficial for Earthing / Grounding us when we are feeling spacey or not quiet fully aware – a great trick that may work in this situation is to wear red socks.

Red is the colour of material matters and survival issues. The day to day challenges that we often meet in making a living and keeping a roof over our heads.

Courage and daring can be supported by this colour and it is a great colour to use in situations where you want to come across as an extrovert or being in power and control.

Red is often thought of as the colour of sacrificial love and Christ consciousness. It is the colour of awareness and awakening.

Red is also the colour of blood and may help in situations that require improved circulation. It can also be warming and useful for the treatment of chilblains and cramped muscles.

The Lesson for Red

"Holding onto resentment"

An inability to deal with frustration and anger in a positive way.  Disappointment, lack of earthing and the need for grounding, can all be addressed through this colour.

Difficulties with material matters, feelings of separation and embarrassment are other lessons offered by Red.

Red can also be an issue with dominance, excessive competitiveness, extreme materialism and over indulgence.

Stop / danger are often indicated by red – think Red Back Spider – so if this colour is being shown to you often, stop and become aware of your actions or surroundings and see what you are in danger of doing / saying / being.

The need for Red

"To become a conscious being"

An affirmation suitable for this colour is

"I am now in my power".

Chakra and physical areas connected with Red are the Earth Star, Base/Root, Base of Spine, Large Intestine, Adrenal Glands, Legs, Feet, Rectum, Genitals.

Clothing is another easy way to benefit from the energy of colour.  Red isn’t your favourite colour?  Use socks or underwear in this colour as a great way of reminding yourself that you are connected and have confidence – and no-one will know.

If that doesn’t suit you, how about red sheets (or just the pillowcase) or bathe in bath-salts in this gorgeous colour.

Drink a beetroot juice, eat a Strawberry.   All these things will just hold your attention and remind you that you are on a journey to reconnect.
